Vietjet Air said the partnership agreement will enhance Emirates’ connectivity across Vietjet’s domestic and regional route network, including key destinations such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.
Dubai – VietJet Air and Emirates Airlines recently signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen route connectivity between major cities in the two countries and provide more travel options for passengers in Vietnam, Dubai and the UAE.
The signing ceremony was held at the Vietnam-UAE Business Forum on Monday in the presence of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
The agreement aims to deepen tourism and trade ties between the two countries and unleash economic and business potential. VietJet said the cooperation will help Emirates’ route network cover VietJet’s domestic and regional popular destinations such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang; at the same time, VietJet’s customers will be able to more conveniently access Emirates’ global route network through the Dubai hub.
In addition, the two parties will jointly explore new technology development opportunities to promote the development of the digital aviation industry.
Adnan Kazim, Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Airline, said: “Vietnam is a market with huge potential to promote tourism and trade. We look forward to expanding our presence in Vietnam through our partnership with Vietjet Air and exploring more opportunities for future cooperation.”
VietJet Air CEO Dinh Viet Phuong said: “With Emirates’ premium service, VietJet passengers will be able to fly to destinations around the world at very competitive prices, supporting the economic and cultural development of Vietnam and the UAE.”
Vietjet Air has been expanding its route network and international cooperation to meet passenger needs and promote sustainable development.
New international routes launched
In another move, VietJet Air officially launched a new route connecting Daegu, South Korea, with Nha Trang, a beautiful coastal city in southern Vietnam, to meet the growing travel needs of local residents and tourists.
Daegu is one of South Korea’s major cities, attracting tourists with its harmonious blend of modern and traditional culture. It is famous for its cherry blossom festival, bustling shopping areas, and historical and cultural attractions such as Donghwasa Temple and Daegu Yangnyeongsi Museum.
Nha Trang is known as the “Pearl of the East Sea” and is famous for its picturesque beaches, clear waters, luxurious resorts and mild climate all year round.
According to VietJet Air, the launch of the Daegu-Nha Trang route is an important milestone in its expansion of its Korean route network.
Since the opening of VietJet’s first Vietnam-South Korea route in 2014, VietJet has transported nearly 11 million passengers on 12 routes between the two countries.
In the first nine months of 2024, Vietnam received a total of 12.7 million international tourists, of which 3.3 million were from South Korea, making South Korea Vietnam’s largest international tourist market. This growth has made an important contribution to the development of economic, tourism and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
