Long An Province – Long An province will attract investments and develop 14 new industrial clusters by 2025, according to the province’s recently announced industrial cluster development plan for this decade.
The total area of Duc Hoa, Can Tho, Thanh Hoa, Dong Huy, Binh Loc, Thủ Thừa and Tan Chi districts is 976 hectares. Hoang Van Son, vice chairman of the People’s Committee of Vietnam, said that by 2030, all industrial clusters will have infrastructure and centralized wastewater treatment systems.
For existing industrial clusters, the government has instructed relevant departments to formulate rules and regulations for effective management and assess their technical infrastructure. It is necessary to attract tenants to settle in existing business districts, ensure that new business districts are built according to plan, and help investors solve difficulties such as procedures and land acquisition.
Huang Wenguangxiong, director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, said Long An province has 18 operational industrial clusters covering a total area of more than 1,100 hectares. Although some countries’ wastewater treatment systems and land acquisition are not yet completed or face related problems, the infrastructure is basically in place.
Another 27 projects (over 1,300 hectares) are completing procedures related to investment, land and infrastructure, but progress is somewhat slow due to lengthy land acquisition procedures. The province is also seeking investment for another 28 (1,808 hectares) industrial clusters, including 14 planned for development next year.
In summary, Long An’s industrial cluster development plan provides great opportunities and potential for investors and enterprises. With the gradual improvement of infrastructure and policy support, Long An will become an important hub for Vietnam’s industrial development.
