Đồng Nai to Build Urban Area Worth Nearly 3 Billion Canadian Dollars

Đồng Nai province in southern Vietnam is set to welcome a large-scale urban development project. Located on Hiệp Hoà Island in Biên Hòa City, the project has a total investment of over 72.2 trillion Vietnamese dong (approximately 2.9 billion USD). This major urban construction plan, jointly developed by five investors, aims to create a modern integrated urban area.

The People’s Committee of Đồng Nai Province officially approved the list of investors for this project on Monday. The five companies authorized to participate in the development include: Lan Anh – Phú Quốc Co Ltd, Sun Group Corporation, Hạ Long Sun Co Ltd, Sun Group Property JSC, and Phú Quốc Beautiful Beach Investment Co Ltd.

This development plan, named the “Hiệp Hoà Urban Area Project,” covers an area of over 290 hectares and is strategically located at the gateway to Biên Hòa City. The development of this prime location will undoubtedly greatly enhance the area’s urbanization level and economic potential.

Of the total investment, approximately 11 trillion Vietnamese dong will be directly injected by the investors, with the remaining funds planned to be raised from other sources. This investment structure demonstrates the project’s enormous scale and complexity, while also reflecting the investors’ confidence in the project’s prospects.

The project’s implementation period spans 12 years, starting from its principle approval in 2023 and expected to continue until 2035. The entire development process will be carried out in six phases. According to Vietnam’s Investment Law, the project’s operational period is set at 50 years. This long-term planning reflects the strategic nature of the project and its consideration for the region’s long-term development.

As early as March 2023, the Đồng Nai provincial government had approved this project in principle. The core concept of the project is to develop a modern, low-density complex while emphasizing harmony with the surrounding natural landscape. This design philosophy reflects the contemporary urban planning focus on sustainable development and ecological balance.

In addition to residential functions, the project pays special attention to the development of sustainable tourism. The development plan includes various types of housing and focuses on creating an active atmosphere in the urban area around the clock. An important goal is to form a vibrant commercial street to meet diverse business and accommodation needs. This comprehensive planning approach aims to create a lively, fully functional urban community.
