On September 20, 2024, the Vietnam-US Smart Technology Trade Promotion Forum is being held at North American University in Virginia, USA, attracting more than 30 businesses from the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Mechanical-Electrical Enterprises (HAMEE). This forum aims to promote cooperation and exchange between the two countries in the field of smart technology.
HAMEE showcased the strengths and capabilities of Vietnamese enterprises at the forum, while exploring collaboration opportunities with American and other international partners. Notably, products from some association members have successfully entered the US market, with quality ratings even surpassing similar products from many other countries (mainly Southeast Asian nations).
At the forum, representatives from US businesses and Asian American enterprises watched video presentations introducing products and production processes of HAMEE members. These demonstrations garnered great interest from attendees, who were impressed by the level of smart technology development in Vietnam and the innovative capacity of its young workforce.
Pham Van Kien, manager of Phoenix Construction Company, stated: “I want to thank the Asian American Chamber of Commerce and HAMEE for introducing these powerful Vietnamese companies today. The Vietnamese community and country are developing rapidly, and I’m glad to be a part of it.”
Michael Theo Clark, President of the Thai-American Association, also highly praised the event: “Today’s event left a deep impression. I think this is an excellent idea, and I believe more Vietnamese enterprises will come to invest and do business in the US in the future. At the same time, I think many US businesses and companies from other countries are eager to learn more about Vietnamese enterprises to seek cooperation opportunities.”
To further promote cooperation between the two countries in smart technology, HAMEE and the Asian American Chamber of Commerce signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the forum. This memorandum aims to strengthen trade and investment cooperation between the two countries while promoting exchanges between business delegations.
It’s worth mentioning that before attending this forum, HAMEE had just participated in the Second International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS 2024) in Chicago, Illinois. This exhibition provided an excellent platform for companies in the mechanical and electrical industry and related sectors to showcase their products and capabilities.
The successful organization of this Vietnam-US Smart Technology Trade Promotion Forum marks an important step in cooperation between the two countries in the high-tech field. The technological prowess and innovative capacity demonstrated by Vietnamese enterprises have gained recognition from the US side, which not only helps elevate Vietnam’s position in the international smart technology market but also lays the foundation for future in-depth cooperation between the two countries in this field.
As the global smart technology industry rapidly develops, Vietnam is striving to position itself as a significant player in this field. Through cooperation with developed countries like the United States, Vietnamese enterprises have the opportunity to learn advanced technologies and management experiences, while leveraging their own talent advantages and innovative capabilities to secure a place in the international market.
The successful hosting of this forum not only reflects the international aspirations of Vietnamese enterprises but also indicates the recognition of Vietnam’s market and technological strength by US businesses. As cooperation between the two countries in smart technology continues to deepen, more business opportunities and technological exchanges are expected to emerge, bringing new growth points for both economies.
