According to data from Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment, 136,085 new enterprises were registered across various sectors nationwide by the end of October, representing a 1.87% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
By sector distribution, the service industry saw the highest number of new enterprises at 103,127, up 2.73% year-on-year, accounting for 75.8% of all new establishments. The industry and construction sector followed with 31,585 new enterprises, representing 23.2% of the total but showing a 0.53% decrease compared to the same period in 2023. The agriculture, forestry, and fishery sector added 1,373 new enterprises, down 5.24% year-on-year.
These newly established enterprises registered total capital of 1.3 quadrillion dong (approximately USD 51.27 billion), up 4.1% from the first ten months of 2023. However, new registered employment decreased by 8.7% to 815,574 people.
The average registered capital per enterprise was 9.6 billion dong (approximately USD 378,800), roughly equivalent to the same period in 2023 but lower than the average level during the first ten months of 2020-2024 (11.2 billion dong).
On the other hand, 173,200 enterprises exited the market in the past ten months, including 92,135 temporarily suspending operations, 63,712 in the process of dissolution, and 17,353 completing closure procedures.
